The lymph node has shrunk by about a quarter and the white cell count is good. She's gained 5 oz ...I really had convinced myself that she wasn't coming home today. The talkativeness she's had since I started the appetite stimulant is a side effect of the drug, so it isn't a tummy ache or anything, and we don't have to do antibiotics again unless her white count drops again. She is, however, furious with me. lolWhatdya know. I'm not crazy ... I’m really rather pleased with being myself, maybe Elizabeth Barrett Browning or one of the women that took the risk to actually write as a woman rather than using a male pseudonym. I would have loved to be on the cutting edge of fiction and the women’s movement at the same time. Dessert Write one sentence about yourself that includes one thing that is true and another thing that is not. I quit smoking on my first try and have been quit for 29 months. National Hug Your Cat Day!! Post Card Blitz for our endangered pets - May 3rd, 2007 Those of us not affected by having a companion sickened or killed by recalled pet food need to have our voices heard. The stress of trying to find food that is safe for our beloved companions has taken it's toll. Even when you think you've found a food that is safe it may be recalled three days later. The only people not affected by this poisoning are those who do not have cats or dogs. On May 3rd, mail a post card for each of your pets to your senator. If you don't know who your representative is they can be found here - http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senator s_cfm.cfm Do not be rude, do not use foul language. Simply tell them that you too are affected by the recalls and the lack of regulation in the pet food industry. Let them know that it has been stressful, time consuming and upsetting to you, as a pet guardian, to find food for your companion. Use your own words, as long as you get the message across. You may also wish to send post cards to the following, but it's not mandatory. Marcia K. Larkins, D.V.M. The White House c/o CNN One CNN Center Atlanta, Georgia 30303-2762 Anderson Cooper and CNN are still reporting that only 17 animals have been injured by the pet food recall. They need a wake up call. We hope that by letting them know this has affected more than the 17 killed in Menu Foods testing they may take steps to protect our pet (and human) food as soon as possible. Wednesday, May 02, 2007 Samantha Blood Count Check (Cats on Tuesday a day late)Samantha pre-surgery  Samantha's white blood count is really low. Specifically her Neutrophil count, but there was no fever so they gave me an antibiotic to help with that today. She's dropped over a pound in the last 2 weeks, so now we have an appetite stimulant too ...who'da thunk anyone in MY household would ever need an appetite stimulant!!!!
